First of all I must point out that we are talking about car buying and selling. And, in my case, USED car buying. I'm sure their customers lie about their credit worthiness, about how they've treated their trade-in, about existing mechanical problems with their trade-in, etc. It may be tempting for some dealers and salespeople to reciprocate. Having said that, my sales rep John Tuohy has been exellent and kept his word every step of the way. However, in my investment advisory business, if it isn't in writing it doesn't exist. The same is true of car sales so it was disconcerting to be signing AS-IS documents that directly contradicted the verbal assurances they would take care of any problems with the car. Indeed, after purchase a fairly expensive problem came up. They are fixing it at no cost to me, even though they don't have to. I think that counts for a lot. Any time goals are in opposition (theirs is to sell a vehicle for as much as possible, ours is to buy it for as little as possible) difficulties are inevitable.
Found a decent car here at Gladstone Mitsubishi. Debra was outstanding and so was Angie. Debra got me the car loan and Angie took the time to show me and Vickie some cars. Found one with a CD player and 10 speakers. A Nissan Altima with plenty of legroom and trunk space.
Bought a jeep from chase Payne and Eric. They were both great to work with. Very helpful no pressure and went out of the way to make the deal happen!
Ask for Justin he is the best!
